It's good to hear honest opinions and we should be more appreciative of them.

About a year ago I had a FD setup several times in the shopping basket and super convinced to get it. I had watched dozens of FD videos and all positive about the usecases. And then there was this video on YT (can't find it now) that talked about the neverending spending you do after buying the basic setup, which was an eye-opener for me.

A year later, and not having bought it and witnessing all the flow of new bits to market, I'm glad I never jumped on the bandwagon. Of course FD isn't holding a gun to my head to buy everything, but I know myself: I have the money to spend and am a sucker for better performance. And that is exactly what FD is designed to do and designed for. I'm sure it's a great product but it needs to be relevant for ones own conditions.

I agree that sometimes it looks like influencers trying to make it look like it can cover all bases. In that sense it's also a brilliantly designed money-making platform that is super well integrated with social media channels and anyone who matters in this space.

Happy to stay away from it and much happier to spend my money on better and lighter boards, great foils (and not chucking a block of drag on them plus more noise), and getting the newest gen parawings.

Many roads lead to Rome and FD is one of them.

Looking for a consistent method of getting up on a parawing standing. Unable to find any video talking about this topic. I struggle with an old hip injury with the parawing pulling sideways. Not an issue with winging pulling upward.

Greg from Omen Foils has the best video out there. Everything in his video just works. Hope it can help.

I was able to get out and enjoy some water time today. Work and life has kept me away from the water since my La Ventana experience back in early February. My first usage was in La Ventana and I found it to be kinda noisy. Fast forward to today, I didn’t find it as noisy. Same foil and similar wind speed to La Ventana but in fresh water.

Noice! 😃

I am having problems with the fit of my new S145v2 stabilizer. It seems that the stabilizer does not have the same curve as the fuselage, causing them to run unevenly. When I tighten the screws, tension builds up, and I am afraid it will cause damage. Does anyone recognize this problem?

Sorry...I have to ask...are you mounting it on the right side?

Looking at this video carefully :

it seems the depower works only if the harness line is engaged? Otherwise if you are just holding onto the bar then it would get pulled towards you and in full power mode ? So in other words, riding harness free in the jibes would mean having to negotiate those jibes with full power? And so how do you dump that power then? Tilt it like other parawings? Interested to hear thoughts on this from others

I think it is opposite. To get full power need to pull the bar towards you (hooked in)

Bar far from you = less power.

Unhooked is idem depowered configuration (but even in depowered config it still works like a normal parawing)

I'm assuming here .. hope we can see more info soon on this.

Imagine the next thing is someone comes up with a board that doesn't need those hugely expensive foils (which are an 'arms race' to nowhere to be frank).. and is so thin that you can actually feel the water with your feet!

I'm a 50 year old guy and I've been inching to larger sizes in past years.. metabolism slows down, belly fat grows.. every time I go pants shopping I find myself preferring a size larger.....and then comes along this parawing thing!

Some 10+ sessions in - which is extremely hard work (lol watch Rob Piros videos!) .. but I feel WAY fitter in my core. My abs have been taking a beating! And my smaller pants sizes fit again!

Anyone else on the parawing journey seeing the impact on the physique?

The lower back has been suffering a bit I have to say but it's getting less now ever since using the harness.

But for sure this is one reason I prefer PW in that I get a total body workout every session! I love the brutality of it!

Ps..no disrespect to wingfoil. The other day I jumped on the wingfoil gear and it was such a luxurious super easy and light feel. Such a wonderful relief to be back on the familiar 'soft pillow'.

What's going on at Unifoil and why is everything being advertised at super low prices? Is this a fake shop? uni-foil.com

Or is the brand in trouble? I remember a setup like this going for 2000+ eur.. maybe 2200 or 2400. Weird? Strange? Suspicious?

Keen to know owners and riders' experiences of the new North Sonar. They arrived relatively late to the foiling scene. The first Sonar was a collab with Delta foils and some bits looked a bit outdated. However the new range looks more like it..

New, being the 2022-2023 North Sonar with the:
- new stabilizers s210, s270 etc.. and not s01, s02
- new HA and MA front wings.

I found these reviews by Tucker from Mackite and Gunnar, but they could be biased because one is selling them, and the other is a team rider.

I am particularly interested in the new HA1250 and HA1450 fw's for wingfoil. Also is the carbon mast as good as they say? How does it compare to others? What league are they in? Armstrong? Axis?

Their prices are good and North does have good quality standards. Every wing comes with covers, also the carbon mast. The bag the foil comes with looks like a big bonus:

So what's the verdict on the North Sonar?
