NSW' Southern Highlands to receive boost in trout numbers

Between the end of November 2010 and January 2011 Industry and Investment NSW has plans to release almost 200,000 trout into rivers and dams across the Southern Highlands for recreational fishos.  Recent rainfall in these regions has created great conditions for trout in the streams and rivers across this region.

In November 101,000 rainbows and 47,000 brown trout will be released in a number of locations including the Crookwell, Wingecarribee and Wollondilly Rivers.

From January trout will be released into lakes and dams and this includes 10,000 rainbows and 5,000 brown trout into Pejar Dam and 4,000 rainbows into Redground Dam.
