PKRA - Postponement of Turkish PKRA World Cup

The PKRA Turkish event with the slalom World Cup and Kite Masters has been postponed to August 21st to the 25th, with registration on the 20th, due to the political situation. We know this is an inconvenience for all riders that have already booked their tickets to the event; local organizers are aware of this, please contact for the proper arrangements.

The postponement of the event is due to the political situation in Turkey. Manifestations have been ongoing for a week and sponsors do not feel it is the best time to promote a sporting event. They are still committed to the PKRA and kitesurfing but feel that running the event at a later date would be more beneficial.

We received this message from the local organizers:

“Our country has a domestic affair with the government and we have stressful and restless days since last week. Demonstrations are still continuing and all citizens connect to each other without attending any other organizations.

Therefore, this situation has also affected our and whole country’s events time plan and brands are anxious about being sponsor on the events.
In this sense, we decided to postpone the event date from 19 -23 June 2013 into 21-25 August 2013. In this way it will be more suitable and right for the effectiveness of the championship."

We sincerely hope that things will be calmer in Turkey the following weeks and thank the organizer for making such a hard decision and we are looking forward to the event in August.
