What happens at a kiteboarding dealer meeting?
Every year in winter, small groups of shop owners get flown all over the world by kiteboarding companies showing off crispy new kites and slick looking boards.
Despite being surrounded by their compeition, the shop owners play nice all week while they sit through meetings and tech-talks. They're 'wined and dined', then shown around some of the best kiteboarding locations in the world. Mauritius, Egypt, Tarifa and Port Douglas, which is where the Best Australia dealer conference was held this year for 2015.
It’s rare to see inside these events.
This year, Steve from Kitepower (like many others worldwide) has bought himself a drone, and spent most of the Best dealer conference buzzing around overhead to view (and film) the gorgeous surroundings of Port Douglas. He even flew it on a tiny atoll on the Great Barrier Reef while the shop owners tested the new Best kites around him.
