This weekend last year an East Coast low drove the Pasha Bulker onto Nobbys Beach at Newcastle. The weather was almost as bad in patches todayt, with some sunshine, but wind and heavy rain at times.

The 'Yella Fella' Shane Vella takes the first two races in the F1 Superboats in Newcastle today.
