Ezzy in Japan

The guys at UMI pictures have done it again, producing a spectacular movie from an unknown location, this time they have followed Graham Ezzy to the edge of the world.

In January 2011 UMI pictures joined Maui windsurfing legend Graham Ezzy (Ezzy / Dakine) for the trip of a lifetime to unforgettable Japan. Ezzy's journey began in Tokyo where he instantly found himself submerged in a complex and distant culture with little similarities to his own back home. "We never knew when we were eating or how long we would be driving in the car because of the language barriers. So we had to prepare for everything and anything. The only time reference point was windsurfing in the sea. And the wind that filled my sails on the water made sure that we almost never left the hotel room without a definite purpose, destination, and many layers of wool. Space for us was either the tiny Japanese room or the entire Pacific Ocean and rarely anything in between."

Ezzy's journey took him to Omaezaki where he was guided out onto the ocean, where the freezing water and howling wind provided comfort in an otherwise isolated environment.
