True Windsurfing Conditions for Ledge to Lancelin Marathon.

Perfect conditions for a 25km blast to Lancelin.
Seven Seconds were all that separated Steve Allen from kiteboarder Alty Frisby last weekend, when the iconic Ledge to Lancelin Marathon took place in Western Australia. Battling weed and kiteboarders on hydrofoils, Allen made the crossing in just 27 minutes and 7 seconds. Not bad for a 25km stretch, but if you hundreds of glory hungry sailors, kiters and paddlers breathing down your neck, you too might have sheeted in a little harder.

As usual, Lancelin turned it on for the event, with that characteristic green water with black kelp beds beneath, and blue skies all round. Check out these pics of the sunset session in the waves too, shot from helicopter they are truly breathtaking.

Back in the pack; (well, only a little!) Karin Jaggi put on a stellar performance with a time of 31:47, placing her 8th overall in the Windsurfing division and 2nd overall in the Open division (excluding the professionals). Trailing her was Ash Nicol in the Masters, Claude Lecoq in the Grand Masters and Lok Yui Wong in the juniors.

In the waves, there was quite the local crowd in the lineup. Jaeger stone won it, with Ben Severne and Ben Protffitt tied second. Scotty Mac was up there too, in 6th place. Don't forget to check out those pics of the sunset session . Truly amazing!
