Windsurfing Championships in Brisbane

Redcliffe, Brisbane will be hosting the Oceanic & Australian Formula Windsurfing Championships on January 22nd to January 25th, 2008

The Formula Windsurfing (FW) Championships are traditionally the highlight of the Australian racing windsurfing season.

Now in its 8th year, FW has evolved from a European-based racing class into one of the most popular and performance orientated windsurfing racing classes. Australia has a great history of putting on world-class racing regattas and following on from the successful 2005 FW World Championships in Melbourne, Brisbane is stepping up to the plate to present an unprecedented regatta for FW - attracting both well known professionals from the International FW Circuit and top competitive amateurs.

The steady and consistent gradient winds typical of Brisbane produce fantastic sailing conditions for the FW class and the event should prove to be the biggest event in Australia?s windsurfing calendar this season.
