yeh no problems, lets hope it comes in though. you'll have to deflate your struts if you want your kites to fit in my car.

Im actually leaning towards Rosebud if it comes in for a change of scenery, what do you think? maybe rosebud saturday and pt henry sunday?

I get to play Daddy this w/e so Saturday is out for me... I haven't taught her to kite yet, I might wait until the swimming lessons have paid off first Sunday arvo might be a goer if it blows well enough and if I'm solo early enough. It'd be nice to see some of that flat water at PtHenry again.

Well another nail in the coffin of Darwin's theory of natural selection....Azza if both you and I have been able to procreate (not at the same precise moment, or even together, I hasten to add)...then the world is obviously on a one way trip to the toilet.

Bondo - Rosebud sounds good - especially if you are volunteering to be the skipper...I will bring an extra large esky and try to remember to pack the brown paper bags to save your lovely velour.

I don't deflate my struts for anyone

Pfffttt....Pfffttt....Pfffttt....Pfffttt....Pfffttt.... (Mr Plow organising his weekend of kiting.) hehehe

To think we both sired girls too... who's have thought there was that much testosterone onboard!

As for the Worlds' oneway trip to the toilet... don't we have a popular reacreational spot nearby called "The Unrinal"?

Rosebud eh?

Tell me more...

Have driven along there several times in the past; saw the wide, open & fairly smooth stretches of water as Port Phillip Bay gently sweeps around between there & Blairowrie, and the thought naturally popped into my head of kitesurfing there.

Could be good for a downwinder (fingers, eyes, everything, etc crossed).

What kinds of conditions would we need (probably has a fair degree of flexibility as the Bay shoreline changes direction a fair bit the further along you go)?

Sunday's forecast (as of the SeaBreeze graph published on Wednesday) looks a bit dicey in the afternoon, and if Saturday's easterlies turn up 24 hours later than expected, we'd be buggered.

Still..., who knows? The wind's a fickle mistress, there's a few days left to go and the forecast can easily change.

Northerlies in Melbourne are a lottery - with about the same odds of winning...

General rule is to get there as early as possible - as the day warms up the wind tends to get much more flukey & especially at Rosebud/Rye - it starts to go through higher - some guys fly extension lines for this reason...40m lines are not uncommon.

I find it best if you dampen down the expectation levels significantly before going & then treat any kite as a bonus...some of the best sessions I have ever had have been at Rosebud....but they are a 10% or less hit rate.

Pt Henry doesnt score much better...and has weed ...and the occassional low flying elephant seal

I think Plow needs to overcome his aversion to real waves.

Saturday 10am Pt danger. 4m swell may make it interesting.
You too Bondo.

time for a faceoff.
Waroo V's Vegas V's Matrix V's Frankenkite.

or get out of town before sundown clown.

OMG! Sounds like the bunfight at the OK tearooms !

Thanks for the invite Tone...or should I call you "Mr Best" (watchout for Bondo humping your leg now that he knows you are a Best reseller - he has a bit of a Best thing happening)

I'll have to call the 5th amendment for THIS Saturday though as I am playing irresponsible dad - its my fortnightly visit to the asylum.

As I have landed a gig down in Geelong for the next 12 months tho - I will be a Pt Danger local & happy to partake in some amateurish wave riding....hmmm wonder why its called Pt Danger...must be something about the public loo's after sundown...

RAL INN, the Matrix is better than all bow kites, and the vegas 06, so it would hardly be a fair competition

and for the record, I would never hump your leg, at least not until you get back from Thailand and we know that the operation was a success.

Personally my money is on the Frankenkite...if its anything like my mates homemade boards it must go a treat.

And here's a thought....who cares the least about having their kite totally trashed in the waves, when all they have to do is raid the Good Sammy's bin on the way home, fire up the Husqvarna and Bobs your aunties live-in-lover

The main beach in Torquay...

There is a carpark at the top of the point looking down over the reef.

I think....

Why not just kite there from Brighton on one of your regular downwinders across the bay and out the heads

Sorry - couldnt resist

Tony, 4m swell on the outgoing tide, over that reef, in that wind?!? i could think of some nicer spots to launch my death from! Without the long drive what's more.

Does 13th Beach get a side-onshore component, or is it due onshore, in that direction?

Bondo, your standards are slipping! There isn't nearly enough plastic in Thailand! What would they call that operation? "The nip, tuck, heave-ho and shove."

Mr Plow, have fun with the girls. BTW. Bob is my ex-father in-law and the only Husqvarna I've ever ridden had a triple-zigzag.

If I wasn't such a kind hearted soul, I'd think you guys were taking the piss outa me.

I suppose I'd better be careful calling Bondo's Waroo gay from now on.

Bondo, if that statement about the Matrix wasn't true, I'd get the impression you were being sarcastic.

Azza, Low tide at Pt Danger for kites is heaven. But it's only an Invited guests only area.

on that note "Plow being a local". dream on. It's how you park your car. and sit and overlook the point, discussing the serious issues in life, plus being able to drift launch at high tide into downwind current over reef in surf.

Silv, Pt Danger and leashes ???????? no Beach cred.

oops

the Connemwell Games may be over but I fogot about the GP on this weekend. More blo_dy havoc, whens it all going to end.....

No diubt at about the same time as the northerlies kick in...double damn...

Still if its southerly on Sunday and not soggy I'll be down there hoping for a comrade or two to car pool. NFI where I'll be able to leave my car though?

Perhaps we could shuttle from further south, middle park or port melb?
