12:18pm on Saturday - will it be on today & when?

Haven't seen any posts yea or nay.

Wind seems to be following BOM prediction & swinging from NW to W and picking up (8kn 30 minutes ago -> 12 to 14kn right now).

Apologies for not posting my phone #. Maybe I'm a little paranoid, but I'm a bit wary of posting personal info on public websites (it could get phished). Am happy to meet up with the mob at the start of the downwinder and give you my number then.

Hope to see y'all soon (is the 1.20pm meet at St Kilda still the go?).

Cheers!

Hi All,

Waterboy - sorry for not putting up a post, John's wife went into Labor yesterday so had me organising this downwinder and I didn't have access to a computer yestrday.

7 of us turned up for the downwinder, with 5 of us actually going (2 stayed back with equipment issues??) The wind was pretty light to start though it picked up slightly as we went giving us enough to have some fun on the way down. It was nice to have some space as when we got to St Kilda there was heaps of kites out.

Thanks to all those who came along, lets organise another soon.

Hi Guys

Little Gypsy was born yesterday. Touching the scales at over 4kg. Waterboy sorry as I got your message about 4pm yesterday.

Mum and bub are radiant, and dad's not too shabby either.

John

Thanks to Soonee and Snowman for organizing the down winder, wind was a bit light at the start and finish, but other than that, a good day. Maybe that bloke that had problems getting in at St Kilda when the wind dropped will get his act together next time. Oh yer, that was me..

Congrat's John and Soonee,

I hadn't realised that I was gone for that long already! It's great to hear they're both happy and healthy. You will, of course, be naming the child after me?... "Gypsy AzzA" now that's definitely got a sweet ring to it.

It's great to see that everyone's getting together and having fun on the downwinders, life needs to be fun, Hell knows there's enough of life that isn't fun enough.

Gawd I miss Melbourne.

Yes!

What a fantastic downwind session. 2 hours of "pur fun" away from any worries (even the one to go upwind for once ).

I've been sailing in the bay many times, so yes I knew the view of the city is great from the bay, but beeing able to come so close to the shore and play with the waves near the waterbrakes that makes it much more exiting!

Thanks again to Soonee and Snowman.
And welcome to little Gypsy.

Ready to give it a go next WE !

I’m out this weekend but if anyone else wants to sort things out please go ahead. It is good to get out and play where you don’t have to worry to much about other people.

I was thinking of organising drinks for next Thursday at the Gunn Island in Middle Park so will put up a post soon.

John congrats on the new bub, good to hear all was well.

See you all soon

Cant make this Saturday now - off to the Yarra Valley for some wine tasting/guzzling ;-)

Kite drinks at Gunn Island next Thursday sound good. What time?
