2 weeks AzzA, Pah I spit in your general direction! It's been at least 3 weeks for me and I think I may have forgotten how to kite (some may dispute whether I actually could kite in the first place).

Here's hoping for Saturday, My local beach is now Brighton or Hampton so I guess I'm going to have to get used to the change of scene.

I'll keep an eye out for Sunday but I'll have to meet you there as I am carless (like careless but less fuel economical) at the moment.

Managed to get ~6 hours of practice with the new Waroo in ~10 knot winds last weekend down at Pt Henry.
-> successful transitions are happening with regularity (if not always the most immaculateness of style)
-> can steer my way reasonably well through a bit of traffic (although it wasn't nearly as bad as St Kilda regularly gets)
-> and am starting to land small jumps.

However the breeze looks to be ~20 knots for 2pm Sunday (and from memory the Waroo 12 is only rated to handle ~24knots max - so could be in a wee bit o' trouble if things get gusty). Of course if it gets that way I can always pull out the 9m C kite.

Think I'd be capable of a downwinder?

Regardless, will probably see you lot on the beach anyway & do an on-the-spot assessment.

Question is; where is the meeting-spot seeing as the GP is on - not sure what parking restrictions/problems there will likely be, seeing as the usual meeting spot at St Kilda is damn close to the Albert Park track.

Am guessing it should be open though (just won't be able to hear each other talk over the engine noise).

Waddayareckon?

Cheers!

To break free of the city's jive on Sunday (AKA GP), might I suggest:

Downwinder from Rickets Point to Brighton

Given Sunday is the last day of our beloved Daylight Savings, and the indications given us by the Hallowed Arrows of SeaBreeze, might I also suggest that the time of convening be brought forth to 12:00PM (AKA Midday)

Hey, Azza,
I don't smoke. except during intercourse, and then out the ears.

2am sunday = "sunday being last day of daylight saving"

I would think it was more like the first day of "too dark for after work session, time".

Freed, calm down the games made the gov. move it back a week.
and as Azza put it I only sold one sole. The other is still on my boot.

Looks like another "lost weekend".
End of the season
Let's prepare for the long, dry winter, with cold waters and northerly gusty winds.
We may be able to organise a St Kilda to Brighton downwinder in a northerly
Just get those steamers out.
Any way, cycling yesterday was good, just on St Kilda famous beach, guess what?
In the very gusty "sand blasting" wind(30 k base with 45 - 47k gusts), there were two ... instructors (can I name them instructors???) giving lessons?
I better stop here....

It's because of the Silviu safety system that the teachers can now teach in 400knots plus

Agrred Silviu

Nick has shown me the 3 ring system and I agree it is brilliant, especially for a teaching situation where he has it arranged so that an instructer can operate the release from behind the student.

Good one Nick, for your attention to student safety

Hey

Where is everybody?
Today it was ROCKING, although northerly, very gusty, with a lot of "holes", but it was fantastic.
One hour on the water, ended on the far south side of Middle Brighton Beach (thanks God to the booties), but finally after three weeks, I was back on the water.
But, we were only 2 (two) on the beach!!!!
If winter's coming, that does not mean we are putting the gear in the storage, aren’t we?

Just because it is winter, that doesn't means we can't have a social meet from time to time, just to keep in touch!(and a reason to have a bear)

Bondo,

thanks for the tip-off, a great way to end off the Easter break.

G'day Flying Bat,

thanks for the launch, always nice to see cheery faces on the beach.

Silviu... mate, buddy, pal,

we have to work on your English, ole friend, "bears" aren't for everyone... even though some "liberated individuals" among us do own and fly bow-kites. Perhaps we could share the odd shout for pots... or steins, if you would rather.

But do you undersatnd what I meant?
That's the important thing, the rest, is just an "a" in place of an "e".
That may be my trademak

Silviu,

bears do not fit into pots, their hairy bellies are just too big. (and) I'm not sure if anything else comes in steins (other than beer)

PS I'd feel much better after a few beers, than a few bears, any day

PPS. Don't drop E's (or A's), unless you are trying to enhance the foil flying experience. (So I've been told anyway.)

This is pure genius Silviu. How anyone can type in the same accent as they talk in is great. I have monitored your posts for a while now silviu and i can clearly see that the are no typos in any of them. "Bears" are the same as "beers" its only in your pronunciation.

El,

Sorry man,
I am too old to change. (you cant' teach an old dog new tricks, you know)
However, if you want to see me, you know, everybody can find me on windy days on Middle Brighton Beach.
It will be nice to see you back on the board as soon as possible.
