finally something interesting.
All kites stretch just fly a new kite compared to a 2 year old kite but looking at the new north cloth I would of thought it would stretch less. The fraying when it's torn may be a bad side effect though.
As for 8 pages well the reo has 8 pages already and that thread is only about 1 kite

Well it does makes sense. If the original canopy is under a greater load due to the material and construction then if it does go there will be more force released. I also can see kite repairers having an issue repairing the damaged area and yet keeping it under the same tension.

But who buys a kite for its repair ability. Yes it is a good kite.

Ps obviously the kite repairers need to upskill to meet the demands of new technology. The way the kite flies give me high tension anyday.

really BWS??? my mate has 1 and absolutely loved it..... until he tried the rebel.
I was on EVO'S and Rebels,I liked both, the EVO had some issues with Drift and flew like **** when it had any de-power on at all,the rebel was by far the superior kite thats until i demoed the Vegas best kite I have ever ridden by far!!! I don't get in to mowing the lawn so this is all based on riding in the surf
BTW isn't the BWS is a slightly re-tweaked REV, fair enough its not as pricey as some but it's old tech

Is that a "pro" BWS post, or just a generally poor attempt to stir up anybody that flies a 5 line kite. (and there are a lot)

I suppose it's a bit like car crash's, it does happen. You see them occasionally, (usually driver error) you hear lots about it in the media, but not that much when you consider the number of cars on the road at any one time, and it's highlighted so that people will try and avoid them.

I continue to drive because it's a risk I am prepared to take, if I am careful, and it gets me where I want to go, weighed up against the other alternatives.

I could go by donkey and still get there, but the ride/experience would not be the same.

So buddy to avoid a minor issue that may or may not happen, you're prepared to get around on a somewhat lesser mode of transport.

Suite yourself.

Ah yes the fifth / fourth line debate continues on...

For a balanced view I ride with a fifth line because of performance and feel - for me that is... but there are two scenarios where I would consider not using a fifth like mr paranoid above:

1. I drop my kites in the water a lot - just learning/or just getting into waves...

2. I intend to really push the limits of my ability and more to the point the edge of what is out there - e.g.strapless SB with various I ride wakestyle tricks down 4 foot waves plus, or pulling into pipeline barrels!

But for performance and direct feel, just love the fifth line, that's it.

Ha, ha. Thats right. If your lawnmowing in the waves, its fine to use a 5th line.
