The 1.8M is pretty amazing in strong wind. Had a great session yesterday in 25-40mph+ winds with Ha880 and 55L ML. I've never been that comfortable going upwind in those conditions. Maybe the strongest gusts I've been out in.

When getting super powered up I'm learning to harness in and use a high angle of attack. The Parawing will compress and become more high aspect and handle the overpowered conditions better. It is a fine line between being in control and totally losing it. Definitely need to use harness to hold it down. Doing some of this in ugly Lake Ontario weather, the face shield comes in handy:-6DtsSgFXuFHN-

Things get dicey real quick if super powered up and you accidentally turn slightly downwind haha. I've had a few really fun hooked in catapult fails.

I've just started getting a super high angle of attack after using a smaller Armstrong HA. Riding toeside can be interesting if you lose that angle and have to suddenly go downwind. Probably then fastest I've ever been on a foil ha ha. One of the benefits of parawings is just how easy it is to go upwind on toeside. Having just one hand on the bar allowing you to open the shoulders and fully turn to look upwind far more than standard wing. I'm not needing to foot change and still crack upwind. My focus has been to try and match a local session that I do with standard wing, being to do mini downwind runs and then go upwind and repeat. It's going well until I make a few mistake or hit weed and get gassed. It's at that stage I find it hard to maintain the angle of anttack needed annd lose my edge when well powered and thus struggle the upwind ride home. Nice excuse for a leisurely walk home!

Absolutely agree about the walk back afterwards with only the board. My set up with the 680 HA comes in under 7.5kgs (I'm 70kgs). It's a nice way to wind down before going home or contemplate another run with the opportunity to tweak set up. Thinking the 780 with 2.9m be the nicest combo for most sessions but when a bit hard to get up go the 4m? Still trying combos but man I'm enjoying the learning process.Have to say the AFS Enduro looks like a nice foil. Love to try one but demo booked out for weeks Anyway I'm totally stoked with the HA in how well I can keep edge and get up so easily. The profile seems perfect for parawing.

Where did that come from? Have you a link? I'm tossing up new injectors for the cruiser or a new D wing...

The D-Wing looks good but I have to say the Maliko appears to have a lot less fabric and thus easier to stow. Also, now that I'm a competent rider the issue of flapping and difficulty controlling the power doesn't seem much of an issue any more. Going upwind on a 4m the other day in 28 knots plus wasn't an issue now that I have worked out the way to ride. Essentially, when going upwind rather than control the power primarily with the wing the rider needs to change their angle of attack into the wind. By riding closer to the wind and maintaining an edge it's incredible how much power you can take. And of course when going downwind no issue with power really. The advantages of the Maliko are there. Small, minimal and more than controllable. The D -Wing looks easier to get going on but not sure about stowing and keeping small. Keen to try though.

I agree the colour coding for the leading edge is a good idea but after using the Maliko for about three months now I never have an issue untangling the lines. I don't want to knock the decisions made, but to me it's not necessary to have different colour lines. And even the leading edge, how hard it's it to identify the leading edge without the coulour? Not hard at all really.

My decision was purely fiscal. 1200 v 2000 so D-wing wins.

It makes no sense to not colour code the lines and leading edge. It doesn't add to the cost and it offers a benefit. Why would you not do it?
