Jessica Mauboy lands the catch of a lifetime in the NT

Local superstar Jesseca Mauboy has this week hit the headlines after being snapped with quite the catch about 140km from Darwin in the Northern Territory. Aboard the Dundee Explorer, on a chartered fishing trip, the pop star caught at least two fish, the largest being the one pictured.

Why is it a big deal? Mauboy is big news, after an action packed few years on the world stage as a singer, actress and model, she’s now getting back to nature a little, and chose to start by heading home to Darwin.

Born in the Northern territory and raised in Darwin as a child, the twenty five year old superstar said she missed Australia after being on the road for the last several years:

“Every day I miss Darwin life. I don't get to go home as much as I'd like to but I carry the Darwin spirit with me. I don't think anyone could take the spirit of Darwin out of me and yes, I really miss it every day.”
