Red thumbs = easy option to piss someone off, without them knowing who it is and a difference in opinion.

Unfortunately it turned more into the earlier of those two answers above, turnng into a little girly (sorry to the ladies on the forum) cat fight cause most people merely had nothing intellegent to add to the topic. I don't know about you guys but I'm glad there gone, mainly cause I was taught that if you have a problem with something speak up about it or shut up and put up with what goes on. Now that the red thumbs are gone you have to have the balls to post what you feel and then back it up. Makes for good reading imo.

Well, you wouldn't have got one from me.Passion is what wins everything in and out of the water and I'm all for a sh-t stir but dislike personal attacks.

The one thing that keeps me coming back into this forum is the passion and the difference of point of view.

Your one of a few people in here that can back up what you say,so respect and you as you said honest and as I see it,don't talk yourself up.
How many red thumbs would I get for that one haha

Same goes to Lacey,OG passion love it.

Good post,my issues.
With the red thumbs, people think twice before they post, now people can rack off posts, most people can't be bothered to give a negative response so don't which gives the smart ar-ses like me right of way.
I still think its either both red and green or none.

i was surprised to see green thumbs were still there- can't see the wisdom of that.

when i get home from work or whatever, i chuck on the forum to see whats happening-articles,vids, photos, info, updates, reviews and sometimes some laughs.

when i see s###, aggression, sledging etc- well it doesn't make my day thats for sure.

however, i can except that some people get off on that stuff. but i think the breeze is ticking over ok without the rt's

I'm just arguing that we are adults, not school children and that worrying about something as trivial as a red thumb is bloody ridiculous. I'm more worried about whinging sponsors hitting the report post button because someone dare to say something negative about their product or god forsake positive about a competitor. This creates undue bias to the true public opinion.

Admittedly this seems to not have been a problem so much of late. Laceys LK post is still there....

Mate it's like the schoolyard. Nicknames never stuck unless you hated them. How many people do you know with nicknames that make them sound cool?

Point is, if you say you hate red thumbs it's kind of funny for people to press them on your posts. Especially as they are anonymous. Phil from OG was smashed withthem and he reacted, he got more. Surf Animals threw a major wobbly he got them no matter what he wrote.

I pressed them for people, even when they just said hello. That Kiwi guy was a classic, he spat the dummy everytime.[}:)]

I'm lost here, are you arguing for red thumbs to come back or what? Because you've pretty much nailed the reason why Laurie got rid of them.

Personally I think the thumbs are a f##ken stupid concept. I believe that the whole idea of a forum is to either "read" or "interact" and not just sit on the sidelines stirring sh#t with thumbs. If you have something constructive to say - good or bad - then say it - if not FKOFF

red thumbs are abused by certain groups. i've been targeted for having views contary to those groups. it ends that you can't say hello without be smashed. now some might go boo who, but it gets to you after a while.

if the red thumbs come back i personally wil be gone

now stop cheering

how does that differ from the red thumbs to the green thumbs ?????

very rarely do you ever see a glowing green. but i see red glow better then the oil light warning in ya car when someone is in the 'bad books'.

it should be no thumbs at all imo

the' real pansies' are the gutless red thumbers imo. if you feel strongly enough to red thumb someone - man up

husq, we've had our differences in the past, but you always say your bit and i respect that.

Its the first thing you've said in 3 years that I agree with everything else was sheer bollocks IMO

What if they werent anonymous? Like Facebook, except with negative as well. That way if someone clicked it you could ask them why. Some people I'm sure read something and can't be bothered with a full reply. You could click red or green and people could see who liked or disliked it.

Kind of don't really care anymore anyway but it would be some middle ground to satisfy the more 'sensitive' types.

i like this one
Did you hear about the politician who was found dead in a Collingwood jersey? The police had to dress him up in womens underwear in order to save his family from the embarrasment.

Hi GizzieNZ
Do you know why lipstick was invented
Laurie my take the answer off

Lipstick was invented by the early Egyptians to make the female face look more attractive while performing Oral Sex

And Yes I'm not into Female Jewellery. But I DO like Girls with Beautiful Red Lips
Help Me Please Mr Wizard.

The best treats in here are when a topic reads like above.

Most people don't comment due to not wanting to offend the
brothers
Its a fkn joke and the laughing stock of seabreeze, its either both
thumbs or none, who runs the site/who cried so much that the reds
were deleted?

You would have to appreciate the delightful irony here - you're saying we are adults so we should be able to red thumb someone without them knowing so we can secretly laugh at them as they throw a hissy fit. That's brilliant.

I do love irony, its one of my favorite words. You read it correctly, as an adult yes I enjoyed laughing at others expense when they are precious enough to be offended by something so trivial. My 5 y.o girl would laugh it off even. To be offended by the thumb IMHO is ridiculous. SUP is the only forum with red removed. What does that say about SUP'ers???? Are we wearing black eye shadow and contemplating new ways to be EMOtional??

I got quite a few reds, I think I actually set a record for the most glowing red thumb in the shortest amount of time. The post was then deleted. I wasn't offended, i felt it was great news. If the people requesting the deletion didnt see DC as a serious threat they wouldn't have red thumbed me and complained and then had a moderator delete the post.

P.s I honestly dont care if they come back or not, the debate has killed some dead time for me and that is what this forum is to me. Entertainment!

mate, i was more worried about hurting say dc's reputation then my own self.

i remember after the kirra stock race i posted a comment thanking jamie mitchell for doing a great job of commentating and helping the event etc

now i was sorta in the middle of a wave of concerted attacks and the idiots red thumbed me severely even when i was thanking somone like him- i dragged it, not for myself

tell me how guys doing that is a good thing????/

they play the man not the ball which is piss weak full stop

im over this crappy topic anyway

cheers
