Bring back red thumbs

Who would have thought red thumbs would divide a nation ?

Hey Scotty, every time you read a topic as above it opens the can.

As CMC said everyone is laughing at this forum, but hey its funny as

It's entertaining. We need to go off topic occasionally for a bit of fun.
I think the 2 most popular posts lately have been "red thumbs" and "bring back Legion" (there goes another can of worms".
Plus Lacey has'nt got Foxtel (you guys might call it Austar). Lacey, how do you do it ? I could'nt rely on just watching 7,9,10 + the 2 government channels.
Just got the hd IQ box put on - can't go back now.

You can bring back the red thumbs but what ever you do don't introduce the red index finger they can be really dangerous and a terrible indication of things going wrong especially in the industry I work in now

Bring back the red thumbs I reckon.
If you have been offended receiving a red thumb, you really need to take a dip down at the river of harden the #$% up. You should probably try to get a life as well. People getting offended by a red thumb.....man what a soft lot we've become!

The red thumbs provided lots of entertainment, come on Laurie, don't make this site PC like everything else in the world!

The red thumbs probably should come back... but you should need 3 red thumbs before it kicks in.

Red Thumbs are actually negative (generally), and some of you (not all of you) probably hand out reds willy nilly, without handing out greens !!

Red Thumbs probably deter people from posting... a little... and without posts, there is NO FORUM !!

Some of the old "reds" were probably personal, and some brand pimping related. Some both !? If the 3rd person dishes out a red thumb, the post probably deserves it! But in the old days, there was some pretty random "single red thumbs" which weren't called for.

Slight contrary to above...
Below is a great reason to leave the reds out ! Too easy to drop a red thumb, when you should just speak up and identify yourself. And reason for contrary opinion !

Red thumbs = easy option to piss someone off, without them knowing who it is and a difference in opinion.

Unfortunately it turned more into the earlier of those two answers above, turnng into a little girly (sorry to the ladies on the forum) cat fight cause most people merely had nothing intellegent to add to the topic. I don't know about you guys but I'm glad there gone, mainly cause I was taught that if you have a problem with something speak up about it or shut up and put up with what goes on. Now that the red thumbs are gone you have to have the balls to post what you feel and then back it up. Makes for good reading imo.

Simondo, I would red thumb both your above posts and adapts cause I don't agree with them and couldn't be fagged explaining why.

Ok, I'd red thumb all of adapts posts from now on - until I forget.

Adapt told us he was doing a uni project when he actually is running a sup business - caught out buddy!

Seriously, I think the reason Laurie stopped red thumbs is cause SUP guys are most likely in mid life - they think they are pioneers, but deep down they know they are not.

Their dicks don't work like they used to. Their relationships with their partners and children are not as powerful as they thought. They are realizing that they are slowly becoming invisible - they have taken up sup boarding to make themselves feel better in the hope that younger chicks look at them differently, when the reality is that younger chicks just giggle and cringe.

Men in their mid to late 40's are very vulnerable to criticism and the a red thumb can push them closer to suicide.

Vulnerable people can sometimes equate stupid things to real life - ie:

green thumbs == I'm a winner
red thumb == I'm a loser

Hahaha, Adolf I have to laugh at how much you SEEM to know about me. If you knew so much you would realise that I NO longer own a SUP business and anyone that knows me is aware of this as well, I have nothing to hide (look up the website www.adaptoutdoors.com.au and see if the site is still in operation that will tell you how well the business is going). I made that decision because of a number of reasons, one of them was to go to uni and further my knowledge. I'm the first to admit to my faults/mistakes andin that case I needed more experience in runnning a business, but I gave it a go and learnt alot from the experience.

By the way I don't fit into a single part of your generalisation of the SUP community above, so I ask you, if thats what your opinion is why do you post in here at all? I'm here to chat, learn new things and if I can, pass on something I have learnt along the way.

I would red thumb you right now - because I only read the first sentence and a half and you sound angry.

I can't be bothered reading the rest - I don't care who you are, or what dead buisness you've done in the past. I couldn't even be bothered clicking the link.

Don't be offended - there are billions of us on the planet - I don't have time for every dead beat.

It's just my stupid opinion - fuctard

Don't you understand. If I could just red thumb you, there would be no need to get so worked up - cause you wouldn't know who was doing it to you - ehhhh fuctard!

no offence adapt

Red thumbs discourage ego driven pompous types
However its usually the ego driven pompous types who complain the most about such things.
'cause red thumbs cut, they cut real deep

If we were in the pub and someone shook there head at something you stated would you report it to the bar manager and demand to have head shaking banned?

Red thumbs are the 'breeze way of shaking your head

If a red thumb ruins your world i think you seriously need to look at your world.
Red thumbs aren't real.....

i find it weird thats blokes that haven't been heard of for months suddenly appear out of the woodwork to add their 2 cents worth to a forum they don't really give a s### about.

hyenas circling for blood after adolf's drunken profanity riddled rants.

Interesting...

Facebook has a "Like" button .. no "Dislike" .. seems to work ok for them.

Youtube has thumbs up + down .. seems to work ok for them.

Seabreeze has thumbs up in some, no thumbs down in others. All forums have a flag where you can report stuff that is offensive/inappropriate. Seems ok, most of the time.

The thumbs are a part of the forum, not the whole forum.

For the record, I got fed up with all the commercial and childish abuse of the red thumbs in this forum. One crew even had numerous logins and were PM'ing each other to thumb users & topics. Go figure.

Maybe you can recall post after post red thumbed for no other reason than "I don't like the poster" or the "I don't like the topic" .. which was not what they were designed for.
