Any recent feedback on the MA1475 and MA1750 for winging? I've seen a few folks on youtube using the 1750 for downwinders and liking it, but not much in the way of comparison to existing foils.
I'm trying to figure out if i get the 1475 or the 1750 for light-wind and variable conditions e.g., 8-15kn. At 95kg i really like the MA1225 for over 13kn... so do i go for the 1750 for max time on foil (but maybe frustrated at the top end) or the 1475 for a better top end and more fun on foil (but is it too similar to the 1225)?
I want to stick to 2 foils... or maybe pick up a used HA1325 or 1525?.
I winged on the 1750 yesterday for the first time. I am 65 kg dry. I did two sessions of about 19 miles each on a lake nearby. I planned to use it just for the morning but liked it so much i used it all day. Things I really liked:
- it turns amazingly well. Wing span is only ~1 cm less than the HA1325 but it turns so much better. My go to foils for winging are the MA1000 & 1225.
- it has a super low stall speed. The lake is about 10 miles long so has a decent fetch and I could catch bumps and glide better than any other foils I've used to date.
- Like the other MA foils, you can skim the water surface and it will glide on. The breach resistance of these foils is unreal.
I am anxious to dockstart and DW with it.
At 95 kg i think this would be an ideal light-wind foil for you.
