4:19 AM Sun 29 Mar 2009 GMT
SAN FRANCISCO -- The Coast Guard is searching for an overdue sailing vessel in the vicinity of Pillar Point Harbor, approximately 25 miles south of San Francisco.

The Joya, a 36-foot, green and white sailing vessel, reportedly had two people aboard and has not been seen or heard from. It is not known where the vessel was headed, but the vessel is homeported out of Crescent City, Calif. The vessel was reported overdue to the Coast Guard by a person who leases a boat slip next to Steven Pruitt, the owner of the overdue sailing vessel.

An MH-65 rescue helicopter from Air Station San Francisco has started a shoreline search.
