Barcelona World Race leader, Virbac-Paprec 3 at 2005hrs (UTC) this evening, Tuesday February 15, contacted Denis Horeau, Race Director of the Barcelona World Race, to report that he (Jean-Pierre Dick (FRA)) and co-skipper Loick Peyron (FRA) wished to make a technical stop in Wellington, New Zealand, having broken two mainsail batten cars in the previous hour as they reefed the mainsail. The batten cars are an essential part on the IMOCA 60, holding the mainsail to the mast.
