Fleet starts Long Passage Races - MMABRW

Light cloud this morning has given way to another beautiful day at Airlie Beach for racing at Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week.

Principal Race Officer Tony Denham has sent the IRC 1 fleet on the 37 nautical mile Dent island Race, whilst IRC 2, Performance Racing and Cruising Division 1 have commenced the 34 nautical mile Pine Island Race.

The Molle Island/Cones Race is the course for Cruising division 2 and the Cruising non spinnaker class whilst the Sports boat and the SB3s will be racing windward/leewards in the more sheltered waters of Pioneer Bay.

The breeze was 20 knots earlier on but appears to be dropping as the day progresses.

More to follow.
