Hamilton on leaderboard at Contender Europeans

'Marcus Hamilton' Sebastien Destremau
Overall results are believed to show Marcus Hamilton, the 2007 World Champion in first place at the Contender Europeans.

Day 4 (possibly Friday) of the Contender Europeans was upset by light and fluky winds. The first race was abandoned after 4.5 legs when the wind shifted and died. After a spell ashore the race was restarted later in the afternoon.

Gernt Guertz was first around the windward mark with the seaward side of the beat paying off well. The race was shortened at the leeward mark at the end of the second round.

Racing was scheduled to finish Saturday but the event website has been suffering problems and reports and results are not clear as to what races or days are being reported.

Leading race positions

1st Martin Muerner
2nd Gernt Guertz
3rd Marcus Hamilton
4th Stuart Jones
5th Giovanni Bonzio
6th Roger Gates

Overall results to follow but Marcus Hamilton of Australia is now in First followed closely by Andrea Bonezzi of Italy.
