Ian Thomson entering the Southern Ocean- but his Mainsail is Cactus

SOS Ocean Racing has left it's pitstop and is very close to rounding Cape Leeuwin and hence entering the Southern Ocean this morning. Ian Thomson fixed what he could of the mainsail whilst in Bunbury and got his engine going again. Ian stated 'It was great to have a stop to rest, 13 hours sleep, but the mainsail is cactus. He said this afternoon 'Between the second and third reef it is like spaghetti although I have seen Spaghetti stick together better than this. So I am left with a third reef in the main only and a full wardrobe ...
