Lewmar Appoints New CEO

The UK's Lewmar Marine today announced the departure of Peter O'Connell as CEO of the company. Peter Tierney, Lewmar chairman, has been chosen by the group's Board of Directors to replace O'Connell with immediate effect.

'In these difficult economic times, we have to continually strive to be successful,' says Tierney, who has spent the last 12 years as CEO of various technical manufacturing and service business. 'Lewmar is a great business with a strong brand and I am confident that we can develop the business successfully on and into the future for all our customers, employees, shareholders and stakeholders.'

Based in Havant, Hampshire, Lewmar supplies, designs, manufactures and distributes a range of leisure marine equipment such as anchors, winches, windlasses, hatches, hardware, rigging, steering and thrusters.

Manufacturing is located in Britain and the US, with sales and assembly offices in the UK, Australia, France, the Netherlands and the US.
