McDougall has stranglehold on Australian Moth title

'Andrew McDougall has a perfect 6 wins from 6 starts - Moth Nationals'
Andrew McDougall repeated yesterday's performance with another three wins from three races to finish the day with a perfect score of 6. His Mach 2 Moth, built by McConaghy Yachts, is consistently faster downwind than the remainder of the fleet, sailing very deep angles without sacrificing boatspeed.

In today's second race he rounded the top mark in fourth place, but by the second rounding of the same mark had broken away from the pack with a lead of more than 200 metres. As he has done in every race so far, he won going away.

Luka Damic has been the best of the rest with two seconds and a third, but only after some emergency repair work to a foil which was damaged when he sailed over an amateur fisherman's trailing longline in yesterday's Dash for Cash.

Racing resumes on Thursday, but with the weather forecast offering little in the way of breeze, remaining races could be challenging for both competitors and organisers.

Provisional Current Standings:

1. 3380 A McDougall - 6
2. 3573 L Damic - 17
3. 9332 A Stevenson - 18
