The 2010/2011 NZ 18ft Skiff Season opened on the weekend at Murrays Bay in great sailing conditions. Saturday's forecast predicted SW winds of 15 knots. With this in mind, all 6 crews competing elected to sail with big rigs for the three races scheduled. This proved to be an interesting decision as the wind increased throughout the day. Yamaha sailed by Scott Kennedy, Scott Illingworth and Nick Catley sailed consistently throughout the day to end with a 1,1,2 scoreline.
