Police investigate Southern 80 'incident'

4:21 AM Sun 8 Feb 2009 GMT
NSW Police are investigating an incident involving a race boat competing in the Southern 80 ski race classic colliding with a houseboat on the Murray River course.

Two people aboard the houseboat have been reported injured, but the extent of their injuries is unknown at this stage.
Apparently the collision occurred late on the opening day of racing yesterday.

No one aboard the ski race boat or its two skiers was hurt.

Racing has been scheduled as normal for today, when the 'big guns' fire in the Superclass and Superclass B events.

The Moama Water Spots Club, organiser of the Southern 80, will post further news on the police investigation into the collision as it comes to hand.

News will be posted to the club's website, www.southern80.com.au
