For those followers of the race who have no friends or family aboard any of the participating yachts to worry about, the images of the fleet front runners in Bass Strait over the last twenty four hours have been little short of spectacular. But spare a thought for the thousands of friends and relations of crew who would rather not have their loved ones subjected to quite such a going-over, much less have the visual evidence so inescapably present.
