?Red sky in the morning, sailors? warning? ? and tonight the old seafarers? adage was ringing true as the first of two and possibly three adverse southerly changes crossed the fleet in the Rolex Sydney Hobart race. When crews arose early this morning to head to their yachts for the big race the sun was rising in a blazing, burnt orange sky: and by late today, as the leaders approached Wollongong, south of Sydney, thunderstorms were appearing on the horizon and the first change was sweeping up the coast towards them.
