Seawind Saluted for Export Excellence

Seawind Catamarans has been selected as a finalist in the Australian Exporter of the Year awards.

Congratulating the finalists, Minister for Trade, the Hon Simon Crean MP, said these outstanding companies generated export earnings worth over $3 billion during the last financial year and employed more than 5,500 Australians.

'That's a significant contribution to lifting Australia's trade performance and the Australian Export Awards serve as a timely reminder that successfully engaging in the global economy is vital for our ongoing prosperity,' the Minister said.

This follows Seawind's win at the NSW Premier's Exporter of the Year Awards where Seawind won the award in the in the Small to Medium Manufacturer category.

Seawind now exports approximately 30% of production, with dealers located throughout the USA plus New Zealand, Thailand and Hong Kong. Seawind employ 107 people at two locations, Russell Vale (Wollongong) and Nowra.

Seawind's Managing Director, Richard Ward will attend the Australian Exporter of the Year Awards to be held in December, with Guests of Honour, Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Trade Minister Simon Crean will attend to announce the winners.
