Star attractions for Sydney Boat Show

Two remarkable young men, James Castrission, 25, and Justin Jones, 24, have been confirmed as star attractions on the Better Boating Workshop stage during the Sydney International Boat Show (July 31-August 5).

In case the names have slipped the memory, James and Justin stunned the world when in 62 gruelling, dangerous days they crossed the Tasman Sea in vessel hardly intended for such an onerous task, a kayak!

The two adventurers, complete with the actual kayak in which they achieved the impossible, will appear on the Better Boating Workshop stage at 2pm and 5.30pm each day of the show with the exception of the Friday.

Their only Friday appearance will be at 7.30pm.

It was November 13, 2007, when James and Justin departed from Forster, on the mid NSW coast.

They were to face every imaginable danger, 50 knot winds, roaring seas, sleep deprivation, muscle wastage and mental strain, but 62 days later, on January 14 2008, they landed at New Plymouth, New Zealand and wrote their name into history.

James and Justin are anything but two run-of-the-mill kayaking adventurers; James holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and has climbed mountains, traversed rivers and conquered numerous tough hiking trails.

Justin has completed an advanced science degree and is currently studying at the University of NSW for a Master of Commerce degree.

Remarkable young men indeed.
