Multi-brand lifestyle apparel retail group Sturrocks has opened a second store in Sydney's busy Balmain shopping precinct.

The 50 square metre store, which opened its doors officially last week, is located at 254 Darling Street and is mere metres away from the area's thriving retail, caf? and restaurant scene.

Sturrocks operations manager Evan Sturrock said the Balmain store, which is open plan, carries a similar product mix to its sister store in Mosman and is targeted at independent men and women who pride themselves on looking great both off and on the water.

Sturrock said the store, open seven days, has already proven a hit with Sydney shoppers with initial sales exceeding expectations. Further incentives will be offered to new customers throughout the lead up to Christmas, he said.

It is anticipated the Sturrocks brand will open a further eight to 10 stores by 2020.

Established in 2004 as a sister brand to the famed Sturrocks Chandlery in Rushcutters Bay, labels carried by the Sturrocks stores include Musto, Sail Racing, Dubarry, Helly Hansen, SLAM, Ortlieb, Zhik, TBS, Sebago, Sperry, Harken, Seal Skinz, Puma Footwear, Paul & Shark, Henri Lloyd and Gill.
