Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week series Day 3

'Predict Wind Monday 8th Sept Magnetic Island' PredictWind.com

Crews in the Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week series Day 3 are scheduled to start the Round Island Race at 10.00am today.

The course will take them east from Nelly Bay, to Orchard Point, across Horseshoe Bay, round the shoreline of Five Beaches Bay, then around West Point to Middle Reef, 26 nautical miles of very scenic sailing.

Low cloud and a confused seaway, along with 12 knots of breeze currently blowing east-southeast, will provide some interesting sailing conditions for the fleet today.

Marley Wired, the New Zealand Bakewell-White 52ft of Rob Bassett is the favourite for line honours in the race and will challenge the record set by Zoe last year.

Stay tuned for more as the day progresses. We are expecting regular reports directly off the water.
