Organiser of the show, the Boating Industry Association of NSW, has appointed on-line ticketing company Sticky Tickets to handle the on-line ticketing.
Domenic Genua, the association's marketing and event manager, described Sticky Tickets as the best option available for the BIA.
'We are always on the lookout for cost-effective services to further enhance our management of the event,' Genua explained.
'Best of all, the system is low maintenance and there's no huge outlay, a big plus for a not-for-profit industry association that does not have a huge budget to call on,' he added.
The Sydney International Boat Show stands unchallenged as the most recognised boating event in the Southern Hemisphere, boasting the largest 'gate' of any boat show staged in the region.
Last year, nearly 82,000 people flocked to the show, with the current record attendance, 93,501, set in 2004.
Admission charges for 2008 remain unchanged at $18 (single adult), $42 (family ticket admitting two adults and up to three children aged 6-17 years), $16 (Seniors Card holders), $12 (Pensioners) and $10 (children aged 6-16-years).
Children under five-years admitted free.
The show will open daily at 10am with the halls of the Darling Harbour Exhibition Centre open until 8pm, operations on the spectacular Cockle Bay Marina closing at 6pm.
