Team Russia will not be participating in the Pro Am race due to damage sustained in yesterday's In Port Race. Closer inspection by the shore crew has revealed that the damage to the starboard side of Kosatka will need the boat out of the water for repairs.

During the start of the second race of the In Port race, Team Russia were squeezed out at the starboard end of the start line, and collided with a prominent diving deck on the stern of the Race Committee Boat. Approximately 600mm of the lower spray rail was broken, and some of the outer skin scratched and compressed, but fortunately has not punctured the inside skin of the boat.

Kosatka will be repaired before the yachts depart for Leg 1 to Cape Town on Saturday 11 October.
