'AUS405- Volvo competition entry'
Optimist sailors from around the world have the opportunity to win some fantastic prizes in a new competition being run by the International Optimist Dinghy Association in conjunction with the Volvo Ocean Race.

Knut Frostad, CEO Volvo Ocean Race recognized the importance of the Optimist class when he supported the launch of the competition, 'almost all the best sailors in the Volvo Ocean Race started racing in the Optimist. That is where they learnt to race, trim the sails and have fun on the water.'

The winners will be announced 25th June to coincide with the launch of the new IODA website and the start of the final leg of the Volvo Ocean Race.

There is still time to enter the competition, entries must arrive by 6th June, so visit the Optimist website now for an entry form, details of the fabulous prizes and an opportunity to view some of the entries already received in our 'Gallery'.
