e-Bay auction - New Zealand for $3,000, Lasers for $6.50

In 2006 an Australian sailor tried to auction New Zealand off over the internet, starting at just one Australian cent.

On e-bay of course! Six thousand hits and 22 bids later, New Zealand was still a real estate bargain at $3,000.

The posting said the country's highlights include 'the dodgiest America's Cup win ever...and very ordinary weather.'

But some spoil-sports at e-Bay pulled the auction saying 'clearly New Zealand was not for sale.'

Now there is a much more believable auction on e-Bay.
