As the days count down to the inaugural event of the 2011 PWA season in Mui Ne, Vietnam, we thought we?d catch up with Belgium?s Dieter Van Der Eyken (Starboard / Severne) to get the low down from Mui Ne.

?Hello everybody,
After another day without wind, it finally got a bit windy on Friday, but with only 12-15 knots it was more waiting for a gust on my 5.3m than really surfing and training like I had hoped! So, it didn?t happen for Friday. Also on Friday, Tilo Eber arrived but he is still fighting jetlag! After looking to the wind predictions again it seemed like Saturday will become a great day with some good wind....

On Saturday wind did become a lot stronger and I was really powered up on my 4.3m, even a bit overpowerd towards the end of the day. Sliding moves were very hard to do in this chop so I was training more on the air moves, like shovit-spocks and making big shakas on the way out. Towards the evening you could sometimes get some nice ramps, hopefully today the swell will have got even bigger so we can go for backloops, but will see, first breakfast and then will see what the wind and the conditions will say!?
