2009 Farr 40 European circuit - Fiamma in tiebreaker over Nerone

With racing abandoned on the final day due to lack of wind, Saturday's scores held and Alessandro Barnaba's Fiamma won the opening event of the 2009 Farr 40 European circuit on a tiebreaker over Massimo Mezzaroma's Nerone.

Fiamma and Nerone finished with 14 points apiece. Current reigning and three time World Champion Vincenzo Onorato's Mascalzone was leading the fleet after two wins on Friday and despite another win on Saturday ended third with 16 points. Fourth was Helmut Jahn's Flash Gordon with 26 points and fifth place (tied at on points with Flash Gordon) went to Class newcomer Alberto Rossi's Enfant Terrible.

The second event of the European Circuit will be Rolex Capri Sailing Week 19-23 May where additional entrants include Class President, former Farr 40 World Champion Jim Richardson with Barking Mad and current North American Champion William Douglass with Goombay Smash.
