2010 Australian Spiral Championship entries hit 60 for Canberra

The Canberra Yacht Club is proud to host the Over the Moon Promotions 2010 Australian Spiral Championship to be held from 23rd to the 26th January on Lake Burley Griffin.

Entries have now hit 60+ with all of last years top ten finishers taking part. Murray Gordon will be back to defend his titles but this will be hard with the likes of Tom Spithill and local hopeful Chris Eddes looking for a win.

The CYC Spiral fleet has been steadily building over the last few years with 30 spirals now registered locally. Canberra has had many successful campaigners in Spirals, with 5 different CYC members winning the Australian Title including Craig Davidson, Iain Davidson, Bruce Paine, Martin Cox and Hamish Nicols. Currently CYC's Chris Eddes is Australian Junior Champion and Andrea Garvey as Australian Ladies Champion.

For the spectators viewing the racing location is superb. Competition racing is conducted in front of the club with large shady trees right next to the waters edge to sit under and only 20mtrs from the CYC club room and the facilities of the Canberra Southern Cross Club are located upstairs.

Over The Moon Promotions is the major sponsor for the 2010 Spiral Nationals to be held during the Australia Day Weekend from January 23 - 26
