ORCV 2010 Tassie Trio - Melbourne to Launceston and Hobart. In addition to getting a pair of races away to Hobart via both coasts of Tasmania, the ORCV also conducts the oldest ocean race in Australia. The Melbourne to Launceston event has been traversing Bass Strait at Christmas time for 103 years and is 198 nautical miles long. As such, it is the fifth oldest ocean race in the world. Pairs are actually a recurring theme of the races and fleet in 2010. As usual, the fastest boat from each of the Eastcoaster and Westcoaster pair of races to Hobart ...
