A Touch of Nosatalgia for the Old Dragons of the Swan

Despite their age, the Dragon Class designed in 1929 remains one of, if not the largest, one design keelboat fleets in the World.

Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club is hosting the 2010 National Dragon Class Championship which has to date attracted 29 entries including international sailors from Russia, United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Interstate representatives include Gordon Ingate of NSW (of Admiral's Cup fame in Caprice of Huon, Carl Ryves (past Flying Dutchman Class Olympian) and Andrew Yorke (past Laser Class Champion). Tasmania is represented by past I14 Champion Andrew Crisp.

Former Western Australian National Dragon Champions Richard Lynn, Tony Lynn , Peter Bowman and Sandy Anderson will use home waters to give the visitors a run for their money.

There will be a touch of nostalgia for the likes of former 12 metre sailors involved in the event including, Gordon Lucas, Ron Packer, Carl Ryves, Andrew Yorke, Richard Lynn, John Longley and Gordon Ingate who will compete in these well tuned yachts.
