Neville Crichton and friends have stretched their lead in the 2009 Rolex Sydney Hobart to six mile over Mike Slade's ICAP Leopard (GBR), and ten miles ahead of the Mark Richards skippered Wild Oats.

The New Zealand supermaxi is now almost an hour ahead of the four times rac e winner, Wild Oats, owned by Bob Oatley.

With 22 hours sailed in the race, the fleet were poised to enter Bass Strait, where winds are expected to be fickle.

Alfa Romeo would appear to be sailing in slightly more pressure than the others and according to the latest data was sailing at 11.3 kts (over the ground or by GPS) while the other two yachts were languishing at 4-5kts.
