Heineken Cape to Rio 2011 - Gerry Heggie is sailing hard and playing for high stakes in the 2011 Cape to Rio yacht race and so far it is a gamble that has paid off, with City of Cape Town now leading the race on handicap. The 41ft Lavranos has been tracking the 54ft maxi Prodigy all the way and was only nine nautical miles behind Chris Frost?s hi-tech Simonis after yesterday?s 24-hour run. Most of the fleet, including Prodigy, are sailing a bit further south of Heggie?s yacht in the hope of making a shorter crossing to Rio, but ...
