Last Race of Sunferries Magnetic Island RW series

Today's triangular course out on Cleveland Bay was always going to decide the winner of the second Sunferries Magnetic Island Race Week Grand Prix division.

Townsville's Zoe, Wayne Millar's Murray 41 and Guilty Pleasures, Leon Thomas' 7 metre Sportsboat were tied on points going into today's deciding race, Zoe ahead courtesy of her three wins.

After the initial spinnaker run, Zoe lit up and her brand new kite filled, she gapped Guilty Pleasures.

Although Guilty Pleasures was first to put up their kite, she got low and had to come up towards the mark. Zoe came through and blitzed the little sportsboat.

Rob Bassett's Bakewell-White Marley Wired took line honours in today's racing.

As the breeze dropped down, the conditions softened and for the back boats it's looking tougher and tougher for them to beat Zoe.

At this early stage Zoe looks like she has won the regatta, however results are yet to be confirmed.

More to follow.
