'All sorts of fun to be had on the day - Melbourne Winter Series' John Curnow

And that's just got to be awesome for the inaugural Melbourne to Geelong race tomorrow, Saturday September 12.

You didn't read it here, but with those breezes I would be tipping the 54nm Course Four for Division One and Course Five for Div Two. Yep. everyone's on the one start line, so keep the heads clear tonight.

Also, make sure you have the ears on in the morning however, as Course Three (58nm) may just get up for Div One. Giddy Up or what! It'll be a massive kite run if that ends up being the case.

So that means it will be a great day's racing and then a great party too, with over 90 percent of the fleet already telling the organisers that they're staying for the bash at the end.

'What a great thing it is to have a new event patronised like this.' An enthusastic Race Director, Simon Dryden, told me today. 'We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early around R2.'
