Monsoon Cup 2009 - The Final Day

On the Pulau Duyong basin in Kuala Terengganu in Malaysia, 24 year old Adam Minoprio and his ETNZ BlackMatch crew of Tom Powrie, David Swete, Nick Blackman and Dan McLean won the ISAF World Match Racing Championship, on day four of the 2009 Monsoon Cup, the final round of the 2009 World Match Racing Championship.

This morning, Monsoon Cup positions five to eight will be decided between Torvar Mirsky (MRT), Damien Iehl (French Team) Phil Robertson (WAKA Racing) and Mathieu Richard (French Team).

Then the Petit Final between the defending Monsoon Cup champion, Australia's Peter Gilmour (YANMAR Racing) and Sebastien Col (ALL 4 One Team) will be sailed.

The Final will be sailed between twice crowned World Sailor of the Year Ben Ainslie and his TeamOrigin crew of Iain Percy, Matt Cornwell, Christian Kamp and Mike Mottl and the new World Champion Minoprio.

The last two hours of the event, which are such to be gripping and exciting entertainment will be broadcast live around the world with a footprint of more than 1.4 billion homes.
