Myuna crew member injured as yacht heads to Launceston in M2L race

According to an ABC News report, a crewman onboard Myuna has been injured in the Melbourne to Launceston race today. Sked information has confirmed the report.

The crew member from Melbourne, was injured when hit by a spinnaker pole onboard the Sandringham based yacht.

The Race Director Simon Dryden is quoted as saying 'as Launceston is the nearest city, Myuna will be continuing the race.

'There was a bit of bleeding but fortunately on board Myuna was an intensive care nurse and in consultation with a doctor, the situation has been managed,' he said.

'The crew member is okay and conscious and the yacht is making great speed to Launceston for further medical attention.'
