Emirates Team New Zealand has comprehensively outsailed the Swiss Alinghi team to take an impressive overall win in the 2009 Louis Vuitton Pacific Series on the Waitemata in Auckland this afternoon.

It was an excellent display from skipper Dean Barker and his New Zealand team who won three straight races on the final day of the final round to take the series 3-1.

Yesterday Alinghi lost the start in the first race of the series but took the race when the anticipated shift left the Kiwi's on the wrong side of the course.

Today, the New Zealanders were in another league.

Barker and his team won all three starts, were first to the top mark in each race and were never headed as Emirates Team New Zealand won race two and three by 29 and 34 seconds and then wrapped up the series with a 20-second margin in race four.
