Nitro Marine on the Gold Coast has been named Mercury Marine's "Dealer of the Year 2007".

"This is the highest accolade we can give a dealer," said John Temple, Mercury Marine's General Manager, Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific.

"I am delighted to be able to recognise the professionalism, dedication and simple hard work that Michael and Therese Waugh have put in, to make Nitro Marine such a great business - it is totally deserved."

Michael and Therese received their "Best of the Best" award during Mercury Marine's annual Dealer Trip, which this year took many of the group's top performing dealers to beautiful Fiji.

Competition for the "Dealer of the Year" award was fierce this year, and was decided via an extensive judging process which covered every aspect of the competing businesses, including customer service performance, sales achievements and the general presentation of the site.

While there can be only one ultimate winner, Mercury has also recognised a number of other dealerships which performed extremely well in 2007, giving Nitro Marine a run for its money.

A special presentation was made to Joseph Day, the Dealer Principal of Merimbula Outboards in NSW, to acknowledge his tremendous support and dedication to Mercury Marine products over an amazing 40 years from 1968, when he first qualified as a fully trained technician, until today
