'I've passed the Gulf of Carpentaria and I'm now well into the Northern Territory.' It is day six into Ian Thomson's solo sailing world record attempt. Save Our Seas Ocean Racing departed Airlie Beach on the fifth of May at 1030 in an effort to break the world record for sailing non-stop solo around Australia. His aim is to be back in 50 days, although his current estimated finish time is the fifth of June, which would put him at 32 days. Beating the old record that stands at 68 days 8 hours and 30 minutes by less then half. ...
